This is a great time to speak with your dentist about what is going on in your mouth and how to keep your mouth as healthy as possible. Use this time effectively.
Talk to Your Dentist While They Examine Your Mouth
During your exam, you can learn a lot about the areas of your mouth that do not get as much attention as the others. If your dentist sees a part of your mouth is in need of a bit more attention, they can tell you where it is and what it needs. You may need to brush more carefully in one spot, or you may not have been flossing behind certain teeth as effectively as you should.Your dentist is also going to be looking around for any malformations in your mouth during an exam. They can see bony malformations from your jaw, or tissue malformations on the other tissues in your mouth.
Any of these could be signs of an issue, such as a clogged gland or even cancer. Make sure you ask if you notice any lumps anywhere in your mouth so your dentist can take a look.
Contact our office and schedule your next exam today. You should have one done every six months, or sooner in certain circumstances. Use the time that you spend with your dentist during an exam to learn how to better care for your mouth so you can keep up with your great oral health!
