Ultra-Fast Foods to Keep on Hand for Healthy Snacks

Posted on 3/10/2017 by Allan Hablutzel
A pile of nuts beside each other.
So, you're trying to stay healthy and you've decided to pay better attention to your teeth when you choose your ultra-fast food snacks. What do you do to achieve these goals?

You know which foods make good snacks and will help keep your weight down while delivering lots of vitamins, but you also know that some healthy snacks can also harm your teeth because of the sugar content, natural though it is.

How To Choose a Snack?

First off, you should always buy a snack that you actually intend to eat. If you choose a snack for its benefits without taking taste into consideration, you won't eat it. That pretty much defeats the whole plan before it ever gets off the ground. Here's what you should do.

Identify the fruits and vegetables that you like and will eat on the go. Next, determine if it will be good for your teeth - fruits and veggies high in fiber are good because they stimulate your saliva production. Another feature is that they can scrape your teeth clean as you chew them.

Fruits such as apples and veggies like celery and carrots have this trait. So, look for snacks that are crunchy, they will scrape your teeth. Juicy fruits have a high-water content that helps offset the sugar concentration.

And Then There Are Nuts
Last, but certainly not least, are your nuts. Nuts are great for your teeth. They are crunchy and stimulate our saliva. They scrape our teeth as we chew and they impart lots of needed vitamins.

Nuts like peanuts and almonds are high in calcium content, a mineral your teeth need to stay strong. Walnuts are high in fiber and a host of other vitamins and minerals that will keep both your body and your teeth, healthy.
